Melanie Brashaw Instructor
Melanie Brashaw started her
career in 1993.After training under Master Khan in the UK for many years and
reaching Cho Dan, she and her husband moved to New Zealand in 2003, and thus New
Zealand World Tang Soo Do Association was born.
Having competed and placed in
several regional, national and international competitions in the UK her goal of
attending a WTSDA World Championship in the USA was finally realised in July
2004.This was also the first time New Zealand was represented at an
international competition.
As a local secondary school
teacher and martial arts instructor one of her favourite quotes to both her
school students and Tang Soo Do students is “Aim for excellence”.
“Students should not accept
low expectations of themselves or others; as long as they are aiming to be the
best and try their best then they have succeeded.”
